When she was 11 years old Sara Sálamo performed the voice over in a short film directed by her father. This would be the detonator that awoke a passion in her for acting and she immediately enrolled in extracurricular theatre classes.
After doing her first acting jobs in the Canary Islands and modeling for brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Coca Cola and Peroni, Sara moved to Madrid in 2011 where she joined Alicia Hermida’s La Barraca, where she continued her training as an actor. In her ongoing learning she crossed paths with teachers including Raquel Pérez, Fernando Piernas, Yeandro Tamayo and Juan Codina.
In 2012 she gave life to the character Violante Joven of Aragón in the series Toledo (Antena 3). She went on to participate in other series including Águila Roja, Aída and Con el Culo al Aire before landing a permanent role in Canal Sur’s Arrayán where she played the role of Esther for over 70 episodes. In the same year came a role in her first feature film with Alex Ezkurdia’s Tres-60 where she took the role of Daniela, one of the leading roles.
A year later Sara took her first prime-time role for Telecinco, giving life to the character Cayetana in the series B&B de Boca en Boca. In 2014 she combined her work on the Telecinco series with other cinema projects including Harald Franklin’s The Glorious Seven and Andy Tennant’s Wild Oats.
In 2015 the director Roberto Pérez-Toledo offered Sara a role in the short film Eurofan and in the feature film Foam Party!. She also made her first appearance on stage with the Tomás Gayo theatre company where she performed in the Joe Orton play Lo que vio el Mayordomo, directed by Joe O’Curneen. She also took the role of Doctor Aguilar in the TVE series Olmos y Robles.
In 2017 she works with Nicolás Gil Lavedra in Buenos Aires on his film Las grietas de Jara. He also does Todos lo saben with the Iranian director Asghar Farhadi with Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem and Inma Cuesta. That same year he works on the Canary Islands in Alejandro Montiel’s film Perdida. A year later he starts work with the Brigada Costa del Sol, the series on Telecinco. He stars alongside Álvaro Cervantes and Hugo Silva.
