Born in London, England, and currently residing in Mexico City, Irene began her studies at the Centro de Formación Actoral and later pursued a Postgraduate Degree in Classical Theater at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and the Desmond Jones School of Mime and Physical Theatre.

In theater, she gained great recognition for her work in the play El Buen Canario, directed by John Malkovich. This was followed by Salomé, directed by Mauricio García Lozano, and Oleanna, directed by Enrique Singer. She was part of La Obra Que Sale Mal, directed by Mark Bell, and Humedad by Bárbara Colio. Recently, she starred in Hamlet, directed by Angélica Rogel. She also collaborated with contemporary artist Haegue Yang in the performance piece The Malady of Death, which took place in a cenote in Yucatán, Mexico.

In film, Irene received the Ariel Award for Best Actress for her roles in Quemar las Naves (2008) directed by Francisco Franco and Bajo la Sal (2009). She went on to star in films such as El Atentado directed by Jorge Fons, Miss Bala directed by Gerardo Naranjo, and Tercera Llamada. Her performance in Las Oscuras Primaveras directed by Ernesto Contreras earned her a nomination for Best Actress. She was also part of the comedy Cuando los Hijos Regresan, Opus Zero alongside Willem Dafoe, and the upcoming Dante y Soledad.

On television, she starred in two seasons of Monarca for Netflix, produced by Salma Hayek and Lemon Studios. She also appeared in Los Enviados, created by Juan José Campanella for Paramount Plus, and Belascoarán for Netflix.

Irene is also an ambassador for the renowned jewelry brand Tiffany’s and has collaborated on campaigns for Chanel, Fendi, Gucci, Ferragamo, Dolce Gabanna, and Dior.

Her most recent film work is in Alexandra De La Mora’s first movie, Dante y Soledad, where Irene plays the role of Inés, a woman searching for her identity after becoming a mother, starring alongside José María Yazpik. Her upcoming television project is the Netflix series Las viudas de los jueves, a comedy based on the book by Claudia Piñeiro, where Irene will star alongside Alfonso Bassave.
