Barcelona, 1977
Graduated from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Audiovisual Communication, in the specialty of Film Directing and Screenwriting. He began his career as a director, with the film Otoño and the short films Genealogías, Dos and Desde la ciudad no se ven las estrellas. At the same time, he worked as assistant director in about 40 films and TV-movies, as well as in numerous commercials.
In 2011, after winning the Villa de Coslada Award for Best Short Film Project, he directed El Barco Pirata, a short film that received more than 20 awards and with which he won the 2012 Goya Award for Best Fiction Short Film. Variety magazine included him among the 10 talents to follow. He then made Marcianos de Marte, still on the festival circuit, which has received 8 awards and more than 80 selections. He directed second units for directors such as Fernando González Molina, Fernando Colomo or Julio Medem and was the second director of the series Félix, created by Cesc Gay for Movistar.
He continues his work as a teacher at Escac, Ecir, Estudi Karloff and the UIC. He makes advertising for Sr. Alce and Strawberry Films and is represented by A6 Cinema in film and TV.
His short film-ad for Audi’s Christmas campaign, Por siempre jamás, was chosen as one of the best commercials of 2017 and won numerous awards, such as the National Creativity Award, the Ampe de Oro, the Panorama Award for Best Audiovisual Execution and 12 Sol Awards.
In 2019 the film Intemperie was released, in which he has directed all the action scenes, and the two seasons of the TV series Hache, where he directed several chapters, created by Verónica Fernández for Netflix. In 2021 he also released Mediterráneo, where he directed again all the action sequences. In spring 2023 he premiered the series Cucut on TV3 and in autumn will arrive Bosé, the fiction biopic from Shine Iberia, Viacom and Paramount+.
