Elena is one of the most recognized and talented actresses of her generation, having worked alongside some of the most distinguished professionals in the industry, starring in various projects, and receiving some of the most prestigious awards in Spanish audiovisuals in recent years.
She began her artistic career at a very young age. At just six years old, she stood out in several editions of the successful musical talent shows Menudas estrellas and Se busca una estrella, where she began to showcase her singing abilities.
Her charm and early talent led her to Cuéntame cómo pasó (2005), where she played for 13 years the now-iconic character Karina Saavedra in the acclaimed TVE series. Her performance and the audience’s affection made Elena a central figure in this production. In 2010, she voiced the character of the girl from The Exorcist, Regan, for RNE’s Fiction section. She revisits this radio drama genre in 2025, playing Melibea in La Celestina alongside Mona Martínez.
In 2018, Telecinco trusted Elena to star in La Verdad, its major fiction project for that year. For her work in both series, Elena received critical acclaim, public recognition, and several awards and distinctions.
In 2019, Elena starred in Inés del Alma Mía, an international co-production for Amazon Prime Video, TVE, and Chilevisión, based on Isabel Allende’s best-selling novel. Allende herself praised both the series and Elena’s portrayal of Inés Suárez. Likewise, specialized critics unanimously lauded Elena’s performance.
Familiar to a wide audience and recognized by the industry, Elena embarked on a new stage of professional growth, leading projects for different networks and platforms and demonstrating her versatility as an actress through a wide variety of roles.
She has starred in Sequía (TVE, Netflix), Los herederos de la Tierra (Netflix), and the successful Alba (Antena 3, Netflix), one of the most-watched Spanish series both in Spain and worldwide in 2022. That same year, she portrayed Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Cadena SER’s Christmas story.
Her work in these projects has earned her nominations and prestigious awards such as the Ondas Award for Best Actress (2022) and the Iris Award for Best Leading Actress (2022).
On stage, Elena has starred in Juan Mayorga’s play El Arte de la Entrevista. In 2019, she performed in A Doll’s House, Part 2 (La vuelta de Nora) alongside Aitana Sánchez Gijón, directed by acclaimed director Andrés Lima—a role for which Elena’s performance was once again awarded. And in 2025, she returns to the stage to star in a play by Succession creator Lucy Prebble: The Effect, directed by Juan Carlos Fisher.
Throughout more than two decades of her career, Elena has also appeared in numerous film and television productions such as Perdiendo el norte, El Ministerio del Tiempo, Rewind, Servir y Proteger, Los Quien… exploring multiple genres, including radio drama.
In 2023, she reunited with Ricardo Gómez for the final episode of Cuéntame Cómo Pasó, bringing a fitting close to a series that has marked so many generations, with an overwhelming show of public support. Later, she took part in the musical miniseries Camilo Superstar, portraying Paloma San Basilio.
Her most recent television projects include the horror series Dime tu nombre for Prime Video and Perdiendo el juicio for Atresplayer, where Elena once again takes the lead.
