Cristina Plazas has demonstrated a high level of versality since the beginning of her career, working in the fields of cinema, televison and theatre. On television we have seen her in Los hombres de Paco (Antena 3), El Comisario (Telecinco), Hospital Central (Telecinco), Amar en tiempos revueltos (TVE) and Cheers (Telecinco), amongst others. She has also starred in TV movies such as Salva Calvo’s Alakrana, Mintiendo a la vida, Síndrome laboral and Un berena a Ginebra, currently in post-production.

In theatre she has performed in José M. Gil’s Estellés per les Teulades, Carles Alfaro’s L’Escola de les Dones, Joan Ollé’s Dotze Diuen Shakespeare, Irene Papas and Jurguen Müller’s Las Troyanas, Carles Alfaro and Joaqum Candeias’s Nacidos Culpables, Rafa Calatayud’s Algo Auténtico, and J. Hinojosa’s La Lección, for which she won the A.I.T. award for Best Actress.

Cristina has featured in films such as Sigfried Monleón’s La isla del holandés, for which she won the Tirant Award for Best Lead Actress, Cesar Martinéz Herrada’s Cuándo todo está en orden, and Carlos Pastor Moreno’s A Ras del Suelo. In 2006 she starred in Victor García León’s Vete de mi and later in Eduardo Chapero-Jackson’s A contraluz, Oskar Santos’s El Mal Ajeno, Montxo Armendáriz’s No Tengas Miedo, and Fernando González Molina’s A tres metros sobre el cielo.

Her most recent work includes Tengo ganas de ti, the sequal to Tres Metro Sobre el Cielo and El Cuerpo, directed by Oriol Paulo and to be released shortly. Between 2013 and 2014 she combines both TV Series La Riera (TV3) and Velvet (Antena 3) with the filming of El País del Miedo under the direction of Francisco Espada with José Luis García Pérez.

In 2015 Cristina begins work on the new Antena 3 series Vis a Vis, in which she plays the role of Miranda for two seasons. A year later she’s back on stage with Sota teràpia directed by Daniel Veronese.

In 2017 she joins the cast of the Globomedia series for TVE, Estoy vivo. A year later she’s on stage at the Teatro Español in El ángel exterminador by Blanca Portillo. She then works with Daniel Veronese again in his show Todas las mujeres. That same year she stars in the film Asamblea by Álex Montoya and joins the cast of the second season of the Movistar+ series Gigantes by Enrique Urbizu She also stars in the series El Nudo and in 2019 she participates in the third season of Alta Mar. One year later, she participates in Carol Rodríguez’s debut film, Chavalas, a teenage comedy that has received very good reviews. In 2021, Cristina films Quatre Raons directed by Pedro Rosado, and in 2022, she appears in several episodes of the first season of the comedic series Després de tu. Plazas combines her prolific career in film and television with numerous theatrical productions, among which En mis manos and Paraíso perdido stand out.

In 2023, Atresmedia in collaboration with Buendía Estudio begins filming a new series, Beguinas, in Madrid and Segovia, where Cristina has a recurring character.
The release of her latest film project, Un cuerpo en venta, directed by Gabriela de la Fuente, is also expected soon. It is a drama in which the actress plays Soledad, a woman who decides to engage in prostitution to support her family.
